Hanging cut paper banners from the ceiling or over areas of high interest create a dramatic effect and really make a space feel festive. For one of our banners we created a traditional “papel picado” where we cut a design into the tissue. This can be fairly time intensive but cutting 5 or 6 sheets at a time (as long as you keep your x-acto blade sharp) helps. Create a design and print it out, and use it as a template to cut your tissue paper. The other banner is simple to make. Cut squares of tissue and fold the top over string and glue with a glue stick. Then just cut the tissue paper into strips, stopping about an inch before you get to the glued section. Beautiful!
